PHOENIX, Ariz. — Saturday’s schedule was filled with activity for UCF at the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, and it was capped off by the Knights’ annual team banquet where plenty of awards were handed out.
Following initial statements by head coach George O’Leary, the Knights were served dinner, while the seniors were acknowledged with their own highlight video. The 2013 senior class consists of seven scholarship student-athletes and eight players overall, and they stand as the winningest senior class in school history. They have been a part of two conference championship teams (2010 and 2013) and three 10-win campaigns, guiding the Knights to an 11-1 record this year and their highest ranking (No. 15) in program history.
Helping to celebrate UCF’s incredible season, former Knight Bruce Miller joined the festivities at the banquet. The two-time Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year is now the starting fullback (injured reserve) with the San Francisco 49ers who are in town to play the Arizona Cardinals.
