JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Maurice Jones-Drew has gone south for the summer -- again.
The Jacksonville Jaguars running back is working out in South Florida at Bommarito Performance, where he trained last year with former teammate Fred Taylor.
Jones-Drew, still recovering from a foot injury, has spent much of the offseason in Jacksonville. But he decided to spend two weeks in Miami before returning for a mandatory minicamp in June.
So all he's really missing are three days of on-field work in Jacksonville.
Coach Gus Bradley says Jones-Drew has "a clear picture of what we expect when he goes down and when he comes back."
Jones-Drew hasn't been cleared to run full speed since having Lisfranc surgery on his left foot in December. Bradley says the next step is for him to "intensify things."
