ORLANDO, Fla. -- UCF has announced the hiring of Darin Hinshaw as its new offensive coordinator.
Head coach Gus Malzahn also announced that Hinshaw will call the plays for the Knights as they get set to join the Big 12. Malzahn called the plays during his first two seasons with the Knights.
Hinshaw calls his return to Orlando his “dream job.”
As a player, Hinshaw set numerous school records for the Knights, finishing as the career leader in every major passing category, including yards (9,000), passing TDs (82) and overall TDs responsible for (93).
He spent 2021 as an analyst for the Knights and this season, he spent his time as UAB’s offensive coordinator. Under his direction, the Blazers set program records for total yards, rushing yards, yards per game and rushing yards per game.
