• Student, driver hurt in crash involving school bus in Orange County, troopers say

    ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - A school bus driver crashed into the back of a car Friday morning in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

    The driver of a car and a student suffered minor injuries in the crash, but no one was taken to a hospital. 

    Officials said the crash occurred around 8:07 a.m. on Aloma Avenue, between Forsyth Road and North Palmetto Avenue.

    The Florida Highway Patrol said the school bus was traveling behind a car traveling westbound in the right lane on Aloma Avenue.

    The driver of the car slowed to make a right turn into the Sun Bay Apartments when the bus driver failed to slow down and crashed into the back of the car, according to a report.

    FHP said the bus driver was ticketed for careless driving.

    Troopers said the school bus had 46 students aboard.
