Armed robbery suspects in custody after massive police response in Parramore

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — After surrounding a section of Parramore for several hours Wednesday morning, police said they had taken a group of armed robbery suspects into custody.

Orlando police initially responded to the area of Conley Street and Woods Avenue early Wednesday after the armed robbery was reported, Orlando Police Department spokeswoman Sgt. Wanda Ford said.

The victim, who was not identified, called police at about 1:52 a.m. to report that he was robbed at gunpoint by four men, Ford said.

The incident happened in the 6200 block of International Drive, the Orlando Police Department said.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office was able to locate the suspects' vehicle and tracked it from the air until it stopped in the 1100 block of Cypress Avenue and four fled into an apartment, Ford said.

"At that time, Orange County Sheriff Office chase was in the air and were able to spot the suspects jump into a car and start fleeing," OPD Sgt. Wanda Miglio said.

Dozens of officers and members of the OPD SWAT Team were called to the location and started searching for the individuals, she said.

"There (were) more cops out here then (at) the shooting over there by Carver," resident Jackson Curtis.

They were located in an apartment in the complex and surrendered when officers told them to come out, Ford said.

"It was great that everyone was around and saw that this happened and we were able to capture these guys," Miglio said.

A woman in the apartment also went with police voluntarily to be interviewed, but was not taken into custody or arrested, police said.

No information was available on what, if any, connection the woman had to the suspects.

A child was also seen being removed from the apartment by authorities.

Police are investigating to see if the suspects were involved in any other crimes.

Police have not identified the suspects or woman in custody.
