LIVE RADAR: Scattered downpours, storms moving from the east lasting into the evening

ORLANDO, Fla. — Showers and storms will continue to stream in from the east through the afternoon hours and into the night. Although shower coverage will be diminishing gradually, we still forecast scattered showers even after sunset today.

About 70 percent of Central Florida should receive measurable rain, in the form of showers and storms.

We’ve had more clouds than sunshine across inland areas of Central Florida, which has kept many locations around the upper-80s.

Overnight the sky will remain partly to mostly cloudy, it will be very muggy and temperatures will drop to the mid to upper 70s.

Forecast for the second half of the week

A trough will continue to provide plenty of instability for Central Florida. Rain and storm chance will remain high. Showers and storms will continue to affect our area during, on and off through the mornings and afternoons, some during the early evening hours for the rest of the workweek.

In the tropics

In the tropics, Tropical Storm Paulette formed Sunday night, and Tropical Storm Rene formed Monday morning.

Both storms are expected to stay out to sea but Channel 9 meteorologists will continue to monitor them. As we approach the peak of hurricane season more tropical waves are emerging from Africa. The good news is that we have time to monitor them.
