Court closures in Brevard, Seminole counties extended to Tuesday

Due to Hurricane Irma, Chief Judge John Harris has cancelled court proceedings in Brevard and Seminole counties on Monday and Tuesday.

“With a substantial number of our employees, attorneys, and jurors having evacuated, together with the uncertainty of road conditions and extent of power outages, I have made the decision to extend our court cancellation through Tuesday,” Harris said.

On Tuesday, initial appearances and other mandatory court proceedings will be at the jail beginning at 9 a.m. Harris will preside over these proceedings in Brevard County. Administrative Judge John Galluzzo will preside over Seminole County proceedings.

Unless otherwise notified, court will reopen on Wednesday.
