    Daytona Beach Sandbags

    Sandbags available for Daytona Beach residents and businesses

    Sand and sandbags are available on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday at the city's Public Works facility, 950 Bellevue Ave. Hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday and Monday and throughout the weekend, from 8 a.m. to noon.

    Edgewater Sandbags

    Will supply bulk sand by 10 a.m. Friday 8/28 at the following locations:

    •  Rotary Park (W Park Ave. at Carol Ann Dr.)
    •  Veterans Park (Indian River Blvd at the river)
    •  Old Landfill Site on S. Air Park Rd.
    •  Fire Station #57 (2616 Hibiscus Drive)

    Residents must supply and fill their own sandbags. Sandbags can be purchased at local hardware stores.

    New Smyrna Beach


    • City residents may pick up sandbags at the New Smyrna Beach Public Works Department, 124 Industrial Park Avenue.  Sand and bags are provided. However, residents must bring shovels and fill their own bags.
    • There is a limit of 20 sandbags per household.
    • Sandbags are free for New Smyrna Beach residents. Valid identification is required.
    • For more information on sandbags, citizens may call (386) 424-2209.

    Today (Friday):

    • City staff are monitoring the storm’s progress and the potential effects on New Smyrna Beach.
    • Maintenance Operations crews are checking and fueling equipment including pumps and chain saws. They also are clearing debris from storm drains.
    • City employees are on call this weekend.

    Port Orange

    Port Orange has sandbags and dirt available to the community while supplies last.  Residents must bring shovels to fill their own bags.  Double-lined trash bags work just as well as sandbags.


    The bags and dirt are available at:                            

    Fire Station 71, 4200 Ridgewood Avenue

    Fire Station 72, 6027 Central Park Blvd.

    Fire Station 73 at 1090 City Center Blvd.

    Fire Station 74 at 6701 Airport Rd.

    Fire Station 75 at 1701 Town West Blvd.

    Volusia County Public Works provides free sand

    Beginning today (8/27) and continuing through the weekend, Volusia County’s Public Works Department will provide free sand and bags to county residents from 7 a.m. to dusk.

    Residents should bring shovels and be prepared to fill and transport bags.

    Materials are available at these Public Works offices:

    ●             530 N. Dixie Freeway, New Smyrna Beach

    ●             455 Walker St., Holly Hill

    ●             2560 W. State Road 44, DeLand

    ●             200 State Road 415, Osteen

    Residents wanting local information may call the Emergency Operations Center at 386-254-1500 today and Friday. Beginning Saturday they may call the Citizens Information Center hotline at 866-345-0345.
