It was another very hot day across Central Florida, with much of the area staying rain-free. Isolated storms moved over Brevard County during the afternoon hours, triggering a severe thunderstorm warning. Highs reached the mid-90s, but it felt as if they were in the triple digits. A few storms are possible during the early evening, mainly across Polk and Osceola counties and widely isolated across Lake, Seminole and Volusia. Some could turn severe, producing damaging wind gusts, small hail, and torrential rains. Evening temps should dip back into the mid-70s and it will remain very humid.
Friday’s forecast
Similar conditions are in the forecast to end the workweek. Temperatures will stay very warm in the morning and quickly rise to the mid-90s during the early afternoon hours. Heat indices will be between 100 and 103 degrees. The Saharan Dust will still be present on Friday, making the skies milky during the afternoon.
