Hot and steamy Friday ahead of busy holiday weekend

ORLANDO, Fla. — Central Florida will see a dry start to the day Friday after severe storms rolled through parts of Central Florida on Thursday evening.

Temperatures were in the mid- to upper-70s for the start of the day and will peak in the low- to mid-90s.

It’s going to be hot and steamy in the afternoon with a 50% chance of rain and storms.

Scattered showers and storms will develop this afternoon, along with the sea breeze.

Many of our beach communities will be on the dry side Friday as the best chance for rain will be inland.

Slightly drier air will arrive this weekend, meaning our storm chance will become more isolated.

Tropical Storm Danielle will continue to sit nearly stationary in the North Atlantic.

Danielle is expected to become a hurricane, but thankfully there is no threat to Florida.

Channel 9 meteorologists are monitoring two other tropical waves that could develop in the open Atlantic this weekend.
