Rain chances go up Wednesday as front draws tropical moisture into Central Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. — Rain and storm chances continue to increase in Central Florida.

Our area will have a 70% chance of seeing afternoon rain and storms Wednesday.

Some of the storms could even be severe.

A front near Central Florida is helping to draw in tropical moisture from the south.

The rain chances will stay around 70% through Friday.

Before the storm activity gets started, high temperatures should reach around 91 degrees.

Channel 9 meteorologists are monitoring a strong tropical wave approaching the Caribbean.

The wave could develop into a tropical depression.

Heavy rain is forecast for Puerto Rico on Saturday.

Thankfully, there are no tropical threats to Florida at this time.
