ORLANDO, Fla. — Scattered showers and storms will be a little more active Friday afternoon, with 50% of Central Florida receiving measurable rain. Showers and storms moving from west to east.
Temperatures will be in the mid-90s. Heat indices will be int he triple digits. The warmth is provided by the winds, which will be mainly from the southwest.
By Friday evening, weather will become more stable but it will continue to be warm and muggy overnight. Lows in the upper-70s.
For the weekend, temperatures will be in the low 90s, with a 60% chance of afternoon storms. Showers and storms will continue to move mainly from west to east.
Channel 9 meteorologists are watching a few tropical waves off the coast of Africa but it is too early to tell if they will impact Florida. As of now, one wave is in the central tropical Atlantic and another one has just exited Africa.
