9 Investigates Florida's prison guard staffing crisis

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — 9 Investigates found out Florida’s prisons are costing taxpayers millions of dollars in overtime for existing corrections officers and hundreds of thousands more for training for new officers.

Low pay and staffing cuts have created a system that continues to increase its cost to taxpayers.

9 Investigates went to the head of the Florida Department of Corrections to ask why so much money is being spent for so little in return.
