Homeowner denies refusing delivery after moving company charges him $13K more to get belongings

A man said he and his 99-year-old mother have been living in a Volusia County motel since Thursday because movers have not delivered their belongings to the family's Ormond Beach home.
Julio Quajuia contacted Eyewitness News after he said he paid Prestige Worldwide, based in South Florida, $9,000 to move his family’s belongings from Pennsylvania.
Quajuia said the company has given him the runaround, and has continued to raise the amount owed to the company.
Quajuia said his Ormond Beach home sits empty, and Prestige Worldwide is charging him more than $13,000 in addition to the $9,000 he has already dished out.
"We showed up here and we didn't hear anything until Saturday. One of the drivers called and said, ‘I'm here. I'm lost.’ And I said, ‘Do you want directions?’ And he hung up on me," Quajuia said.
Channel 9 found out that Prestige Worldwide is not a Better Business Bureau-accredited company.
"They pulled up with a 28-foot truck, and they had gone over the house again and said, ‘You have a larger load here. We are going to require more money,’” said Quajuia.
Quajuia said he gave them more than $9,000, mostly in cash, but he still owes more.
"And he said we were going to owe him $13,380 cash upon delivery, which made us leery, but we had to get out of our home," Quajuia said.
Paperwork shows two different companies on the letterhead. 9 Investigates called the company, and a person in the sales office said they tried to deliver to the house, but delivery was refused.
Quajuia denies that claim.
The company put his belongings in storage.
A Prestige dispatcher told 9 Investigates that it will cost Quajuia an additional $350 to move his belongings from storage.
The dispatched, who would only identify himself as Sean, said the company would have the furniture delivered Thursday or Friday.
However, Sean could not give an exact time, but said Quajuia must have the $13,000 in cash, plus the $350 in storage fees, when they arrive.
