OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Troopers said they have cited the driver responsible for a crash at a SR 417 toll booth with careless driving.
The crash happened at the southbound toll plaza near exit 1, not far from the I-4 entrance Saturday afternoon.
According to troopers, 84-year-old Daniel Kerr crashed into the back of a stopped vehicle at the toll booth. FHP said it is unknown why Kerr did not stop in time.
Kerr crashed into the back of a Buick sedan, which caused the sedan to collide with a KIA that was stopped in front of it. The vehicles also damaged the toll booth, troopers said.
Daniel Kerr and his passenger, 83-year-old Lulu Kerr, were rushed to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. The occupants of the two other cars suffered only minor injuries.
