Deputies investigate home invasion near UCF campus

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Orange County Sheriff's Office is investigating a home invasion that happened at an apartment near the University of Central Florida campus early Saturday morning.

Officials said the home invasion was at an apartment on Red Ibis Lane, in the Campus Crossings apartment complex. The complex is off of Alafaya Trail, just minutes from the UCF campus.

According to deputies, the suspects knocked on the door before forcing their way into the apartment. Investigators have not said what was taken during the home invasion.

On Sunday, UCF officials sent out a community alert to students to inform them of the home invasion.

No one was injured during the incident, deputies said. Officials have not released a description of the suspects or any other details.
