1-year-old in serious condition after being hit by car in driveway

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — An Orange City child is recovering at Arnold Palmer Hospital Thursday morning after she was hit by a car in her driveway, authorities said.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the 1-year-old girl climbed out of her mother's car after she parked at her Montrose Avenue home.

The child ran behind another car as it was backing out of the driveway, officials said.

She was airlifted to Arnold Palmer Hospital in serious condition.
