9-year-old boy missing in South Daytona found unharmed, police say

SOUTH DAYTONA, Fla. — After searching for several hours Wednesday, police in South Daytona said a missing 9-year-old boy had been found unharmed.

Seth Harris, 9, left his home at 9 a.m. Wednesday wearing a blue and white bathing suit, cream and yellow flip flops and riding a red and white BMX bike, police said.

He was last seen at 10 a.m. riding alone south on U.S. 1 from Reed Canal Road, the South Daytona Police Department said.

According to investigators, Seth's family allows him to be away from home all day but he does not have a cell phone and they are not familiar with his friends.

The South Daytona Police Department confirmed just after 9:45 p.m. that Seth had been found at a skate park about a mile from his home.

Seth's grandfather, Kip Harris, told Channel 9 that now that his grandson had been found, he wasn't going to let him out of his sight.

"I'm going in and he's going to be in my arms, and believe me, he's going to be in my arms for the night," he said. "Believe me, he will not leave my arms."
