Arnold Palmer's legacy will live on, organization promises

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Arnold Palmer Enterprises promises the golfing legend's legacy will carry on in Central Florida.

Cori Britt, vice president of Arnold Palmer Enterprises, told Channel 9's Kimberly Eiten it's far too soon to know what the annual Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill will look like, but that it will definitely be a celebration of a great golfer.

“He extended beyond the game of golf. He touched lives. He was so much more. He not only was a great golfer. He was a great American,” Britt said.

Palmer was the main draw to the annual invitational. He brought in hundreds of thousands of golf fans, proudly dubbed “Arnie’s Army.”

“I would be in a room and I would feel this presence, and I would turn around and it was Arnold Palmer. He had that,” said golfer Chris DiMarco.

“It's going to be a celebration of the life of Arnold Palmer. The influence he's had on the tour players, what he's done for charity and what that tournament will continue to do for charity,” Britt said.

There will be a private funeral for Palmer next Tuesday, October 4 in Latrobe, PA.
