Shondra Bradley and her 10-year-old son Martavius often cross the train tracks near McCracken Street in Sanford.
"It's very easy for us to cross right through here and go to the other side, because if we walk all the way around the other side it takes more than a minute,” Bradley said.
Fresh bicycle tracks and footprints on the worn out walkway likely means dozens of others continue to cross the tracks, despite a nearby memorial for 13-year-old Marcees Kilpatrick.
He was struck on the tracks by a SunRail train on May 19.

The area is one of 14 train track trespassing hotspots on the SunRail route identified in a 23-page audit.
Safety engineers with SunRail observed five people trespassing on the tracks here on Dec. 20, 2016.
The audit showed several problems with the tracks, including rocks being thrown at passing trains, people standing on the tracks and other intentional acts.
The audit recommended that fencing be considered in the area and in any locations that do not currently have fencing on the east side of the right of way.
Another hotspot was Michigan Street in Orlando, where 12 trespassers were spotted.
Others included the Altamonte Springs station, Central Boulevard and Grant Street in Orlando, 18th Street in Sanford and State Road 436 in Altamonte Springs, where a trespasser was killed
