Authorities find counterfeit cash while serving arrest warrant in Daytona Beach

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The Secret Service is investigating whether a group of people in Volusia County were pumping counterfeit money into the local economy.

Investigators told Channel 9's Blaine Tolison that when they went to serve a warrant on Hawk Street in Daytona Beach Wednesday afternoon they found counterfeit bills.

Inside the apartment, authorities found a rife, a copy machine and sheets of uncut money and counterfeit bills in wallets.

Officials said they could tell the money was counterfeit because the serial numbers were all the same.

Authorities said Jasmine Hayward had counterfeit $10 bills in her purse and an out of state warrant for robbery. She was taken into custody with two others.

Deryck Barcous was arrested for a warrant out of Jacksonville for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Brodie Hamilton, of Daytona Beach, had a warrant for his arrest.

None of the suspects, however, were charged with counterfeiting.
