Brush fire behind St. Cloud Elementary flares up

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Flareups from a brush fire behind St. Cloud Elementary School has changed pick-up locations for students and parents Friday.

Budinger Avenue from Progress Lane to the south entrance of the school is closed because of the flare up, St. Cloud Police officers said.

Buses and parents will need to go to the north entrance of the school to pick up the children, police said.

The school is going to "inclement weather" procedure for walkers, police said.

The 25-acre brush fire started around 2:30 p.m. Thursday near the school.

The fire was started by a downed power line, the St. Cloud Police Department said.

No damage to structures or injuries were reported in connection with the fire, officials said.

The fire was 100 percent contained Thursday night.
