Road reopens after car fire on I-4 in Volusia County

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Interstate 4 is back up to speed after a car fire caused traffic delays on Sunday.

The car caught fire in the eastbound emergency lane near mile marker 124 shortly after noon, officials said.

Heavy smoke and flames could be seen on a Florida Department of Transportation highway camera.

Firefighters closed both lanes while crews extinguish the fire, but they have since reopened. The closure caused some heavy backups in the area.

No one was injured in the incident.
