Chuck Berry, 90, dies at Missouri home, police say

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. — Music legend Charles “Chuck” Berry died at his St. Charles County home Saturday afternoon, local police said.

He was 90.

The St. Charles County Police Department posted on its Facebook page that a medical emergency was reported at Berry’s Buckner Road home at about 12:40 p.m.

When emergency personnel arrived at the residence, they found the 90-year-old musician unresponsive.

Despite lifesaving efforts, Berry could not be revived, police said.

He was pronounced dead at 1:26 p.m.

Berry was a significant influence on rock music with such notable hits as “Roll Over Beethoven, “Rock and Roll Music” and “Johnny B. Goode."
