City lowers swan feeders at Lake Eola amid drought

ORLANDO, Fla. — It's a sign of the times.

Severe drought conditions have caused Lake Eola's water level to recede, exposing part of the lake's shoreline.

The lack of rain led city workers to lower bird feeders at the iconic park so no swan goes hungry.

Crews waded through the waters Tuesday to adjust the feeders, which are attached to posts staked in the lake bed.

It wasn't long before the lake's bevy of swans darted toward the lowered feeders.

Many counties in Central Florida have issued burn bans to prevent more fires from sparking.
