Co-workers hope for answers in Conway man's slaying

ORLANDO, Fla. — Friends and co-workers of a man found dead in his Orlando apartment are hoping for answers a day after they discovered his body.

Ken Kepple had never missed a day on the job, according to co-worker Eric Gray.

"The store employees, including myself, got nervous because he's always here," Gray said.

When Kepple didn't show up for his shift Wednesday at a local grocery co-op, his fellow workers knew something was wrong.

"We started calling his phone, which went directly to voicemail," Gray said.

When that didn't work they decided to pay a visit to Kepple's Conway apartment, which is where they made a gruesome find.

"(There were) clear signs of a struggle. It was definitely a homicide," Gray said.

Kepple was found dead in the apartment. Orlando police said they are treating his death as a homicide.

Police have yet to name a suspect in Kepple's slaying.

"We're really saddened. Ken was a very special man," Gray said
