Cops: Melbourne man who shot man in leg charged with attempted murder

MELBOURNE, Fla. — The man Melbourne police say is responsible for a shooting that left one man in critical condition appeared before a judge Saturday.

James Pittman, 25, is charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm.

Police were called to Cedar Drive Wednesday night and found a man with a single gunshot wound to his leg.

The victim is still in the hospital.
