I-95 back open after crash near New Smyrna Beach

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Several injuries were reported following a multivehicle crash along Interstate 95 in Volusia County on Tuesday.

The crash happened shortly after 1 p.m. in the northbound lanes close to State Road 44 near New Smyrna Beach. 

State troopers said an SUV was partially on the shoulder of the road when it was struck by a tractor-trailer.

Four people were taken to the hospital, two of them in critical condition, authorities said. None of the victims’ names have been released.

Northbound traffic was being diverted to State Road 442 for a brief period of time. All lanes have since reopened.
