DELTONA, Fla. - A 10-year-old boy is recovering Monday after being run over by a float during Deltona's Christmas parade.
Volusia County deputies said he suffered minor injuries when his leg was run over, while he was walking alongside a float on Providence Boulevard Saturday night.
They said he reached into the float to get some candy and got tangled in the truck's wheel.
The parade stopped as paramedics freed the boy from the truck's wheel bed and took him to the ambulance.
His name was not released.
