ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Two men were wounded early Saturday in a shooting in the South Apopka neighborhood, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.

The shooting happened shortly after 7 a.m. on East 13th Street west of Apopka Boulevard, Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Jane Watrel said.

Deputies who responded to the shooting said they found a wounded man sitting in a vehicle.

The man was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition, Watrel said.

At the same time, the Apopka Police Department said another man wounded in the shooting showed up at Florida Hospital Apopka.

Investigators said the second man's injuries weren't life-threatening.

Neither man was publicly identified.

"Deputies believe this was not a random act of violence," Watrel said. "Witnesses at the scene are cooperating."

The shooting continues to be investigated.

No other details were given.
