Deputies: 5 men arrested after exposing themselves to undercover deputy at Volusia County park

Five men were caught during an undercover police sting exposing themselves in public, deputies said.

Deputies had received reports of men exposing themselves at Lake Beresford Park, mainly on a trail close to a wooded area.

As part of the Sheriff’s Office operation, an undercover deputy went to the park Friday and was approached by five men who struck up a conversation with the deputy.

Deputies said the men then exposed themselves to the deputy and one asked him, “You going to get yours out, too?”

One of the men leaned in, hugged the deputy and touched him inappropriately, according to a report.

The men, John Brunell, 53, Nicholas Drouin, 64, Ronald Katrek, 65, Richard Lovely, 67, and Jose Santiago, 36, were arrested on charges of lewd activity charges.

The man who touched the deputy was also charged with battery.
