One of the people who died inside a Merritt Island home committed suicide, according to Brevard County deputies.

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies said an investigation began after they received a call on Sunday reporting that the people living there were believed to be dead.

Neighbors in the area of the Indian Street home said police arrived about 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

Sittichai Boonkeian, 42, and his daughter, Ananya Mungmart, 13, lived in the home, neighbors said.

For the past few days, the pair’s family members have knocked on the door without any answer, investigators said.

Deputies said they believe that Boonkeian's death was suicide.

"(It's) traumatizing, just totally traumatizing. You can't believe it. You'd never believe it in a million years that something like that would happen," neighbor Wanda Grega said.

Deputies said they're waiting on the result of an autopsy to determine Mungmart's cause of death.

Boonkieian's wife lives in Thailand. Neighbors said the two victims were excellent neighbors.

Mungmart was a sixth grader at Tropical Elementary who reportedly spoke three languages, English, Thai and Chinese, and had aspirations to be a lawyer.
