Deputies: Employees, customers tied up during armed Dollar General robbery in Astor

ASTOR, Fla. — Lake County deputies released video Thursday of people being tied up by robbers at a Dollar General store in Astor on Monday.

No one was hurt during the robbery, deputies said.

The robbers were able to get away with cash, but deputies aren’t saying how much.

Deputies hope the surveillance video will help generate leads in the case.

The footage shows two men coming into the store with guns drawn, then corralling two customers from the parking lot.

One of the armed men then jumps the counter while pointing a gun at the clerk.

Deputies said the men moved around the store and tied up two workers and three customers with tape.

The men wore blue latex gloves and had clothes tied around their faces.

Three minutes into the video, a clerk is seen shoveling money into a duffel bag a robber grabbed from the shelf.

After about 15 minutes inside the store, the gunmen ran away.

The incident follows a rash of armed robberies at Dollar General stores in Marion County in the last month.
