ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A 46-year-old man shot a 25-year-old man Wednesday evening during a fight, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.
The shooting was reported shortly before 9:15 p.m. on Hollister Road near Lake Pickett and Chuluota roads in the Bithlo neighborhood, Orange County Deputy Ingrid Tejada-Monforte said.
Jose Irizarry Caraballo was arguing with a man when another man tried to break up the fight, Tejada-Monforte said. The identities of the other two men haven't been released.
Investigators said Caraballo shot at the man who was trying to breaking up the argument but hit the man with whom he was arguing instead.
The victim was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in stable condition, deputies said.
Caraballo was booked into the Orange County Jail on an aggravated battery charge.
The shooting remains under investigation.
No other details were given.
