ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - A 16-year-old boy was shot early Wednesday at a condominium complex, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.
The shooting was reported shortly before 4 a.m. at the Lyme Bay Colony condominiums near South Texas and Rio Grande avenues, Orange County Lt. Kyle Morse said.
"The victim had been standing outside with a friend when they heard four gunshots," Morse said. "The friend then found the victim had been shot."
The boy, whose identity hasn't been released, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center to be treated for gunshot wounds, Morse said.
His condition is unknown, but he was alert and conscious when he was being taken to the hospital, deputies said.
The gunman remains at large.
