Disney worker caught on surveillance stealing money from guests

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Channel 9 has learned a Disney World hotel worker has been charged after an undercover sting showed she was ripping off guests, authorities said.

Authorities said 29-year-old Bruna Francois was a housekeeper at Disney's All-Star Resorts and was stealing money out of guests' rooms.

"There were several guests complaining there was money stolen out of their rooms," said Oceola County sheriff’s spokeswoman Twis Lizasuain.

So Disney security set up a sting with Osceola County detectives Tuesday afternoon inside one of the guest rooms. Investigators said they recorded Francois accessing a safe in which they planted $400 in cash. They said she then hid some of the stolen money inside her cellphone case.

"She did not cooperate with the investigation and did not admit to taking the money," said Lizasuain.

Francois was arrested and charged with theft by a hotel employee. She has been suspended without pay.
