ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - A fire destroyed a mobile home in Orange County, said officials.
The fire raced through the unoccupied home on Washington Avenue in Bithlo, just before midnight Tuesday.
Firefighters said they had to use tanker trucks since there were no hydrants nearby.
They kept the flames from spreading into the woods, but could not save the home.
Firefighters said they could see the flames before they even arrived on the street.
"Upon arrival, it was a double-wide mobile home, abandoned, no power to the structure. We had flames approximately 50 feet in the air. It was fully involved when we arrived on scene," said Battalion Chief Rick Reynolds of the Orange County Fire Department.
Reynolds said they are checking reports that some homeless people had set up camp inside the home.
