WATCH: Firefighters battle warehouse fire in Citra

CITRA, Fla. — A wood pallet manufacturer's warehouse burned down early Saturday, Marion County firefighters said.

Firefighters who responded to the two-alarm fire around 1:17 a.m. found heavy smoke and fire coming from the 3,000-square-foot warehouse on U.S. 301.

Firefighters determined the building was unoccupied and removed several large propane tanks from the property.

Firefighters also found and removed a dog and three chickens from the property.

The dog was treated with oxygen before animal control officials turned it back over to its owner.

A total of 32 firefighters and 11 trucks got the fire under control by 2:42 a.m., firefighters said.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire, which is unknown at this time.
