COCOA, Fla. — A hole in the roadway has shut down the north side, eastbound lane of State Road 528 in Cocoa on Monday, police said.
The closure is just west of exit 45 at Industry Road, police said.
Originally, crews thought it might have been a sinkhole, but crews said a leaking pipe underneath the highway caused the hole, police said.
Crews with the Florida Department of Transportation are working on repairs and expect the portion of the road to be closed most of the day.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
