‘It's not funny,' says woman who saw ‘creepy clowns' at Brevard County park

PALM BAY, Fla. — A woman said she spotted two people dressed as “creepy clowns” at Palm Bay’s Victoria Park last Saturday.

Kelly Reynolds' told Channel 9's Melonie Holt said they stared at her, but didn't say a word.

“They were just standing straight there with nothing on their face, with just a blank stare,” Reynold’s said.

Reynolds said her dog spotted the men dressed as clowns.

“White makeup, blood dripping down it, hobo clothes and black skull caps,” Reynolds said while describing the men's clothes.

Reynolds said she quickly ran away and contacted Palm Bay police.

“There are plenty of kids in this park. Who knows they weren't going to lure them in the woods with candy or a puppy, and that kid turns up missing,” Reynolds said.

Stories of clown sightings across the country have been increasing recently. Eyewitness News reported about a similar incident in Ocala last week.

“It's not funny. It's not funny anymore. It's time to stop it,” Reynolds said.

WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said it is a misdemeanor for anyone over the age of 16 to wear a mask or device disguising themselves in a public area like a park.
