Leaders seek public's input on how to improve Audubon Park's main street

ORLANDO, Fla. — MetroPlan Orlando will hold a workshop Thursday evening at Leu Gardens to reveal the findings of a traffic study on Corrine Drive, Audubon Park's busiest thoroughfare.

The area's lively restaurants, bars and shops are a draw for neighbors and visitors alike.

Orlando resident Craig Carter, who said he'll be at Thursday's meeting, would like to see changes made to the street.

"I'd like for them to keep Corrine four lanes, and I'd like it landscaped nicer," Carter said. "Maybe that will keep people going a little bit slower."

City leaders will share the findings of the study, which focused on traffic patterns, the availability of parking and school traffic.

"I really don't want them to turn it into a two-lane street, because it is just going to be crazy with the traffic," Carter said.

In addition to hearing the results of the study, residents may suggest ways to improve the corridor, something organizers call a "Corrine Drive wish-list."

The event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
