LegoLand opens new 'World of Chima' ride

POLK COUNTY, Fla. — WFTV got a sneak peek at the new LegoLand attraction a day before the grand opening.

The new ride, "World of Chima" lets guests battle with water cannons as they search for the energy "Chi."

With a few cannon blasts and a sword-wielding lion, the new “World of Chima” attraction opened at LegoLand Florida.

“Here, we’re bridging the physical play world and the virtual play world,” said General Manager of LegoLand, Adrian Jones.

The World of Chima is based around a new TV show on Cartoon Network and a line of toys to go with the new program.

It’s already shown so much popularity that LegoLand chose to move quickly with the new attraction, which includes play areas for kids and a boat ride with water cannons to do battle with others.

The ride seems a perfect fit for the hot Florida summer.

The World of Chima sports more than 2 million Legos, bringing the total at the park to more than 58 million Lego pieces.
