Man accused of inappropriately touching girls at Aquatica water park

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A 32-year-old North Carolina man with a season pass to SeaWorld’s Aquatica water park in Orlando was arrested Sunday after two girls said he touched them inappropriately in the park's lazy river, deputies said.

Roy McCormick has been to the park several times this year without incident, Aquatica representatives said.

In a court hearing Monday, McCormick's bail was set at $4,000.

Two girls visiting the park told investigators that McCormick touched them and followed them out of the water when they tried to leave, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.

The girls told the adults in their group, which included off-duty police officers, who confronted the man, deputies said.

He refused to speak to investigators at the scene, and asked for a lawyer, authorities said.

McCormick was charged with two counts of lewd/lascivious molestation.

In a statement, SeaWorld said: "the safety of our guests and ambassadors is our number one priority, and we have zero tolerance for this type of behavior at our parks."

McCormick is banned from all SeaWorld properties.
