Man accused of stalking Publix employee has 4 restraining orders against him

PORT ORANGE, Fla. — A man was arrested over the weekend after deputies said he showed up to a Port Orange Publix where a woman worked, even though she has an injunction against him.

Four woman have restraining orders against 50-year-old Gary Geist.

He’s facing charges of aggravated stalking and violating an injunction against a stalking order.

“I have a gentleman that I have an injunction against, a restraining order, and he just violated that injunction,” the victim told the 911 dispatcher.

According to the 911 call, Geist showed up and bought the woman a potted plant.

“He just left. He purchased the flowers at 3:40 p.m.,” said the woman.

The victim filed a restraining order in 2014 after years of Geist allegedly stalking her at work.

In a charging affidavit from 2014, the victim told authorities that Geist started coming into a Publix she used to work at in Daytona Beach and would give her gifts.

She repeatedly told him to leave her alone and that he was making her and the other female employees uncomfortable, the affidavit said.

Every time Publix would transfer her to another store, the victim said Geist would somehow find her.

Criminal charges were filed against Geist, but according to court documents, the state attorney decided not to prosecute Geist.

Geist remains behind bars without bond.
