Man arrested in connection with body found in Banana River

ST. CLOUD, Fla. — St. Cloud police arrested a man Thursday they said is behind the death of his business partner, whose body washed ashore in Brevard County on Dec. 6.

Christopher Herr, 37, faces murder charges in the death of Roland Orrison Jr.

Orrison suffered a gunshot wound to the head and his body was found in the Banana River in Cocoa Beach.

Police said the suspect and victim met at a 7-Eleven on East Irlo Bronson Memorial in St. Cloud where Orrison got some checks and took a look at financial spreadsheets.

Police documents said Orrison, “Felt something fishy was going on” and told a family member, “If he didn’t hear from him to call the cops.”

The next day, Herr asked Orrison to come back to their business’ warehouse on Hamlin Avenue.

Police said Herr shot Orrison in the back of the head at the warehouse.

Orrison’s body was found on a raft in the Banana River.

Police confronted Herr at the warehouse when they found out Herr recently bought the same make and model raft in which Orrison’s body was found.

Investigators said the men were business partners and were in the middle of a financial dispute.
