Man bitten by shark in Cocoa Beach

COCOA BEACH, Fla. — A 42-year-old tourist was helped from the water Tuesday in Cocoa Beach after being bitten by a shark.

Lifeguards were able to stop the bleeding and call for paramedics after the man was bitten on the foot.

The victim, whose name hasn’t been released, was taken to Cape Canaveral Hospital, where he received treatment. There's no word on the severity of the injury.

Witnesses said the shark looked to be about 4 feet long.
