Man robs woman at one Volusia Co. bank, tries to use her ATM card at another

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Police continue to search for an armed man who robbed a woman at a drive-through ATM in Volusia County early Monday morning.

Police told Channel 9's Blaine Tolison the robbery happened at a Suntrust Bank in Port Orange on Nova Road about 7 a.m. The robber, police said, then went down the street to a Wells Fargo ATM to use the victim’s card.

Surveillance video shows part of the robber’s face, but police have yet to identify a suspect.

Port Orange residents were stunned to hear about the robbery.

“I try to be more alert of what's going on, but it's kind of scary it happened to somebody so local around here,” said one resident.

Police believe the robber escaped on foot. He is described as man as in his 30s, about 6 feet tall with an average build. He was wearing light blue pants and a tan shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
