Man shoots at person repossessing his vehicle in Melbourne, police say

Melbourne police arrested a man they said shot at another person who legally repossessed a vehicle. No one was injured.

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Melbourne police arrested a man they said shot at another man who legally repossessed a vehicle.

Police said Kevin Eugene Clayborne, 48, chased after the other man, who was driving away in the area of 1430 South Backcock Street at 4:50 a.m Saturday.

Clayborne is accused of shooting at the man to prevent him man from driving it away, police said. The man was executing a lawful repossession of the truck, police said.

The driver was not injured.

At least one bullet hole was found on the victim’s truck.

Clayborne has been charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, shooting into an occupied vehicle and fleeing/eluding.
