Man shot while walking in Rosemont neighborhood

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A 41-year-old man was shot Friday night while he walked through a residential area in the Rosemont neighborhood, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.

The man, who wasn’t publicly identified, was wounded shortly before 10:15 p.m. near Tony Street and Long Road, Orange County Lt. Joe McCollom said.

McCollom said the man told investigators he was walking near the intersection when another man pulled up next to him in a newer four-door silver Toyota or Honda and shot him without provocation.

The gunman fled the area in the vehicle.

Paramedics brought the wounded man to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment. He’s expected to survive his injuries.

Detectives continue to investigate the shooting.
