In those two-plus years, the most mass shootings in Central Florida have happened in Orange County, where there have been 11, including the Pulse nightclub terror attack in which 49 people were killed.

It was the deadliest mass shooting in American history.

Volusia County had three mass shootings in that time period, while Brevard, Marion and Seminole counties have had one shooting with four or more victims during that time.

But before that June massacre, Florida was already leading the nation with the number of victims of gun violence, and led the U.S. in the number of mass shootings in 2016, according to the Gun Violence Archive, a non-profit organization that tracks gun violence incidents collected from law enforcement, government and commercial sources.

Five people were killed and six injured in that incident.
